We are now OFFICIALLY CLOSED FOR THE SEASON!
We are very disappointed but have to advise the Parksville Curling Club is closed for the remainder of the season.
As always, our focus and priorities on the Board are to keep the health and well being of all our Members both on and off the ice and to ensure the Financial well being of our Club.
With the recent extension of the Public Health Order to February 5th, 2021; we are in a financial position that would not be feasible to stay open for the remainder of the curling season.
We thank everyone who responded and donated their 3 Fall Session games to the Club. For those that had registered for the winter session, we will be returning your paid fees. We ask for your patience in the processing as our Membership Director-Gerry Rivers has to remove the Winter Session from your profile. And once, complete for every member, we will be issuing cheques accordingly. When you receive a new invoice in your email inbox, please sign into your profile, as your refund amount will be the difference between the “Sign Up Total” and the “Amount Paid” which will show in the “My Account Summary” just below your login information once you have signed in (it is not the amount on the invoice you received by email). Our commitment is to have your fees back to you by February 28, 2021.
Do you want to DONATE? Again, some members of our Club have come forward and are interested in donating to the Club. We were operating on a deficit budget and we still have utilities, insurance and maintenance costs going forward.
We are unable to provide a tax receipt for any donations at this time. The National Sports Trust Fund will not provide tax receipts from donations to cover operating costs or for membership fees. The NSTF is for club development projects where the goal is to support, development and expansion. We were able to achieve that with the Chiller project.
We continue to look for opportunities for grants and have received the most up to date Federal Government initiatives.
If you wish to donate a portion of your fees to the Club, please let Gerry know. His email is This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. If we don’t hear from you by FEBRUARY 15, 2021, a full refund cheque will be issued.
We thank everyone for your contribution to the Parksville Curling Club. And I personally would like to thank the Board, Volunteers, Zack and Tim for all your hardwork to make it possible to curl from the start. We will continue to provide you further information and updates as we move forward. Stay safe and lets really hope we all get that vaccine really soon!
Zack Kozak, our Club Manager will be at the Club until January 29, 2021.
