Spares: Should your Skip be not available to play a game, you may replace the skip with another Skip, but they must throw first or second rocks.

Most teams are focused on preparing for their respective playdowns, whether in Men’s, Ladies, Juniors, Seniors, or Mixed divisions. Specifically showcasing many of the province's top senior teams, making it a hub for high-level competition and talent development.

Novice League Sunday Afternoon 3:00pm - Open Format 5 week Winter League (Part 1) (Winter Fees $90)
Novice League (Winter Part 1) — Sunday — 3:00pm — Open Format Winter Fees $90
The Sunday Novice League is a fun and welcoming way to build your skills and meet other new curlers. Everyone in the league is relatively new to the sport, and the atmosphere is relaxed and social.
Each week wraps up with an opportunity to connect with fellow curlers at the Rock’n Broom Bar, open for post-game socializing.
The Winter season consists of two 5-week regular two-hour games, with coaches available throughout to offer tips and guidance.
The Winter Part 1 season runs for 5 weeks and starts on January 18 and ends on February 22. There is no game on February 8.
The Winter Part 2 season also runs for 5 weeks and starts on March 1 and ends on March 29. You can register for Winter Part 2 here.
Participants in our Novice leagues may sign up as individuals to be placed on teams, as part of a team of four, or as a partial team looking for one or two others. Registration closes when our set number of curlers is reached, regardless of whether you may have listed other people as curling with you.
We encourage you to come up with a fun punny name for your team (eg. Hack Sabbath, Drawing A Blank, Get Your Sheet Together...) and you may even want to get matching shirts/jerseys/hats made for your team. We can recommend some local printers if you're interested.
To register you will need to create an account on the club website if you do not have one already.

Learn To Curl Friday Evening 7:00 pm - Winter (January) Session (Winter Fees $103.25)
Our Learn To Curl program is the perfect place to start if you're brand new to curling, or if you have been away from the sport for a while. Our program consists of five two-hour sessions on Friday evenings, starting on January 16 at 7pm. The lessons cover the fundamental skills of curling: delivering a rock, sweeping, strategy, teamwork as well as understanding the different positions. Before you know it you'll be making shots and sweeping hard.
We provide all the equipment you need, however it is cold on the ice. So please bring gloves, a toque or hat, and wear comfortable, stretchy if possible layers. It is also quite dry on the ice so please bring a refillable water bottle. We have filtered water available.
Friday nights the bar will be open afterwards for socializing.
The Learn To Curl program is $98 + tax and this includes all the equipment you will need as well as a mix of 10 hours of instruction and game play.
Learn To Curl (Winter session) dates are: January 16, 30, February 13, 20 and 27.
To register for the Learn to Curl (Winter session) first GO HERE to register with the club. The Learn To Curl (PCC Members) program is exclusively for Parksville Curling Club members and is $50 + tax and this includes all the equipment you will need as well as a mix of 10 hours of instruction and game play. If you are already a member but want to refine your skills in a structured program, come join us this January for Learn to Curl for only $50.
Our Learn To Curl program is the perfect place to start if you're brand new to curling, or if you have been away from the sport for a while. Our program consists of five two-hour sessions on Friday evenings, starting on January 16 at 7pm. The lessons cover the fundamental skills of curling: delivering a rock, sweeping, strategy, teamwork as well as understanding the different positions. Before you know it you'll be making shots and sweeping hard.
We provide all the equipment you need, however it is cold on the ice. So please bring gloves, a toque or hat, and wear comfortable, stretchy if possible layers. It is also quite dry on the ice so please bring a refillable water bottle. We have filtered water available.
Friday nights the bar will be open afterwards for socializing.

The Recreational League is perfect for curlers looking for a fun, social league. If you're new to town, or want to play in a non-competitive fun league you're in the right place!
If you have taken a Learn to Curl program and are ready to enjoy more relaxed gameplay with a focus on basic rules this is the place for you.
This league offers a casual and supportive environment where players can integrate into club play, develop their skills further, and gain confidence on the ice. With an emphasis on fun, sportsmanship, and community, it provides an ideal platform for curlers looking to enjoy regular games, meet new people, and experience the club’s vibrant curling culture without the pressure of intense competition.
Instructors will be available to offer advice, help refine your skills, and see that a good time is has by all.
Sign up Individually or as a pair. Teams will be drawn each night so you'll get to play with everyone in the league at some point in the season.
Dates for Winter Rec League are Jan 16, Jan 30, Feb 13, 20 & 27 plus March 6, 13, 20 & 27.

Eligibility: Anyone between the ages of 8 and 18 years of age, as of December 31st, may attend. Junior League members are encouraged to bring a friend to try curling on Mondays.

Curlers 13 years of age and OVER as of Dec 31, 2025 add the Curl BC Fee of $22.00 and Curling Canada Fee of $5.00

Instructors will help novice and experienced youth curlers, explaining the game, various drills to improve deliveries and instruction during ends of play.
Mini bonspiels (tournaments) on Saturdays are held monthly where participants can form teams and curl against other curlers from other Central Island curling clubs in either a Novice or Experienced Division.

Footwear and Clothing: You must bring CLEAN, flat rubber-soled running shoes, that are CARRIED TO THE RINK. Also bring comfortable/warm clothing (sweatpants, stretchy pants or track pants are best) and wear layers. It's cold, until you're sweeping and then you'll be hot...
Note: You will not be permitted on the ice with shoes that have been worn to the rink.
Equipment: It is not necessary to purchase any equipment for the beginner curler as we have step-on sliders, brooms, stabilizers and grippers available. We have a limited selection of curling shoes, depending on size, that may be available.
Slip-on grippers, sliders, curling shoes and brooms can be purchased from the Parksville Curling Club Pro Shop. Should you decide to purchase your own gripper and slider, be sure to bring with you the footwear you plan to use as important to guarantee a tight fit.
Safety Note: Curlers under 11 years old are REQUIRED to wear helmets, and we recommend that all curlers wear a helmet all times on ice. You can wear a bicycle, snowboard or ski helmet and the Pro Shop also has some head protection options.

The Special Olympics League at the Parksville Curling Club provides a welcoming and supportive environment for athletes with disabilities to learn and enjoy the sport of curling. This league focuses on skill development, teamwork, while building a sense of community, allowing participants to grow confidence both on and off the ice. With guidance from experienced coaches and volunteers, athletes have the opportunity to engage in friendly competition, stay active, and connect with others who share their interest in curling.

Spares List Annual
The Spares List is for those who want to curl occasionally without committing to a full league season. By registering as a spare, you pay all Parksville Curling Club "other" fees plus a fee for each league game you spare in. This option allows you to spare in any league of your choice, as often as you like, provided you meet the specific gender, age, and other conditions of the leagues. It’s a flexible way to stay active, enjoy the sport, and meet fellow curlers without the commitment of joining a full-time team.
Sparing fees:
- 3 or 4 person game: $15
- 1 stick, sturling or doubles game: $10
- 2 back to back sturling or stick games: $15
