Big Chill II fundraising campaign

Big Chill II posterOur condenser unit is nearing the end of its lifespan and it must be replaced before we put the ice back in the arena in Summer 2025. The estimated cost of this replacement is $155,000. The PCC Board approached the City of Parksville seeking their financial support for this capital expense. The response to date has been very positive but there remains a requirement for cost sharing on the part of the PCC.

We are inviting members to donate to the replacement of our Condenser unit through the Big Chill II program. Through the support of CurlBC and the BC Amateur Sports Fund (BCASF), all donations of $25 or more will receive a charitable donation tax receipt to use in completing your personal tax return. Click here to make a donation through the BCASF. Charitable donation tax receipts are provided the same day for online contributions, and donations made before December 31, 2024 can be applied to the 2024 personal tax return.

Financial donations of any denomination will be welcomed. Donations of $500 will be recognized with an inscription of your choice on one-half of a rock handle. Donations of $1,000 will secure an entire rock handle for your message. While donations will be made through BCASF at the link above, the inscriptions will be managed through our Club Manager. You will be asked to provide the Sheet number and the Rock number and color (if you have a preference) as well as your inscription. All qualifying donations made before April 30, 2025 will have inscriptions placed on the rock handles over the summer of 2025, ready for the 2025-26 season.

We have received an anonymous pledge of $10,000 in matching donations to our fundraising efforts! By agreeing to match the first $10,000 in Member donations made to the Big Chill II program by April 30, 2025, our donor is hoping to provide further incentive for PCC Members to step forward and support the club in financing our needed capital replacements.
