Every year, the International Tankard is held to celebrate volunteerism within curling clubs. The event is a partnership of the International Tankard Committee of BC and the Pacific Northwest Curling Association. Worthy volunteers from British Columbia and the United States are nominated by their curling clubs to attend this special event, where they are recognized and enjoy a weekend of friendly competition and curling fellowship.
Last year we had the privilege of hosting the event at the Parksville Curling Centre, and this year it moves to the Vancouver Curling Club. To thank them for all the volunteer work they do for Parksville, we are sending Bruce and Kim Beaudry, along with our club manager Stephen Ewashkiw, to represent us at the event.
We would also like to extend a special thank-you to Hullo, the fast-ferry service between Nanaimo and Vancouver, for generously sponsoring our volunteers with complimentary travel to and from Vancouver. We truly appreciate their support!
