February 22 2025 is Curling Day in Canada, and PCC is hosting a free day of curling and fun for its members.
We will also play CURLING CANADA’S BIG SHOOTOUT!! During the lunch break we will need everyone's participation as we collectively draw as many rocks to the button as possible in a 30-minute period. There is a $5000 prize grant for the club that wins across Canada.

Travelling to Parksville
Parksville is located on Vancouver Island, so most Tankard participants will need to take a ferry or an airplane to get here.
Ferry
BC Ferries sails between Vancouver and Nanaimo. Departure Bay ferry terminal is about a 35 minute drive from Parksville and Duke Point ferry terminal is about 45 minutes away. We strongly recommend that you book ferry reservations!
On Sunday March 23 the closing ceremony will be over in plenty of time to make the 3:20 pm sailing out of Departure Bay or the 3:15 pm sailing out of Duke Point.
Flying in
Nanaimo is the closest airport with scheduled service on Air Canada and WestJet. The last flight of the day to Vancouver on Air Canada on Sunday March 23 is scheduled for 2:50 pm. If you leave immediately after the closing ceremony you will be able to catch this flight.
Travelling from Nanaimo to Parksville
Rental cars are available at Nanaimo airport. We’re working on having volunteers available to transport Tankard participants from the airport or ferry terminal in Nanaimo to Parksville. Please email event chair April Gale-Seixeiro at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. if you are interested in this option.
Flying with a broom bag
If you don’t want to check a broom bag on your flight, send an email to April at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. to arrange to borrow a PCC member’s broom (not a club broom!) and/or delivery stick. Let us know what type of broom and/or stick you usually use and we’ll try to find one for you. We just ask that you bring your own broom pad, cover or sleeve.
