The Thrifty Foods Open Bonspiel is brought to you by Thirfty Foods and the Parksville Curling Club. This year's event is an Open Format (meaning teams can be a mix of any genders, juniors curler & not-so-junior curlers too) and brings together twelve teams competing for a chance to win the Bob Hawkes Memorial Trophy.
The 'Spiel runs from November 28–30 and costs $400 per team.
There is a Thirfty Foods Men's Bonspiel (a Sweeper's Cup qualifier) running at the same time. More details on this companion event can be found here.

Get ready for a weekend of great shots, good company, and plenty of fun at the Parksville Curling Club’s annual Stick Curling Bonspiel! Whether you’re a seasoned stick curler or new to the game, this event offers a friendly, competitive atmosphere and a chance to connect with fellow players from across the Island.
Event Details
Start Time: First draw begins at 9:00 AM on Friday, December 12.
Format: 24 two-person teams (any gender mix). Each game is 6 ends, with four seeding games followed by divisional playoffs.
Scoring: 2 points for a win, 1 for a tie. Tie-breakers determined by ends won, total points scored, and (if needed) a coin flip.
Prizes: Every team wins cash!
Entry Fee: $130 per team.
Sunday Wind-Up
We’ll wrap things up on Sunday with a luncheon at 11:30 AM, followed by prize presentations at 12:30 PM. It’s a great way to celebrate a weekend of curling and camaraderie before heading home.

Our 5-week winter season Learn To Curl program kicks off on January 16 and it is the perfect place to start if you’re brand new to curling, or if you have been away from the sport for a while. Our program consists of five two-hour sessions on Friday evenings, starting on January 16 at 7pm. The lessons cover the fundamental skills of curling: delivering a rock, sweeping, strategy, teamwork as well as understanding the different positions. Before you know it you’ll be making shots and sweeping hard.
The Learn To Curl program is $103.25 including taxes and this includes all the equipment you will need as well as a mix of 10 hours of instruction and game play.
